Oprah’s Network President Steps Down…
Robin Schwartz has officially resigned as President of OWN Television, the forthcoming cable network from Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications. The news was made official by CEO Christina Norman, who said in a statement: “As a result of her resignation, I’ve decided to streamline executive reporting and will not be replacing the position.”  Nina Wass, SVP/Creative Affairs and Maria Grasso, SVP/Programming, will now report directly to Christina. Robin joined OWN in June 2008 from Regency Television, where she served as President of the joint venture between New Regency Films and News Corporation’s Fox Television Studios.
OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, is a new multi-platform media venture designed to entertain, inform and inspire people to live their best lives. OWN will debut in 2009 in more than 70 million homes, on what is currently the Discovery Health Channel. The venture will also include the award-winning digital platform, Oprah.com.
